The series of painting depicting the Twelve Tribes by Salvador Dali honored Israel's 25th Anniversary. Though not Jewish, Dali was profoundly impressed by the rebirth of a Jewish state after 2,000 years of exile. Zebulun: " Zebulun dwells by the sea-shore, his shore is a haven for ships, and his frontier rests on Sidon" (Genesis 49:13). Although Zebulun was regarded as a tribe of sailors, the Prophetess Deborah praised it for not behaving like the other sea-faring tribes, Dan and Asher.

Description of the Medal The Tribe of "Reuben" is the second in the series depicting the Twelve Tribes by Salvdor Dali in honor of Israel's 25th Anniversary. Reuben was the oldest of the sons of Jacob. "Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might and the first fruits of my vigor, excelling in rank and excelling in power" (Genesis 49:3).

The Hebrew University in Jerusalem was the first to be established in Palestine. The inauguration ceremony took place on the 7th of Nissan 5685, April 1st, 1925 in the amphitheatre on Mount Scopus. On the University's 40th year, a special medal was minted to be awarded to the University staff and to guest dignitaries.
